  • Finalist, 30 X 30 Prize, Art Piece Gallery

Two plein air paintings from my 2016 studio residency at the Tweed Regional Art Gallery are finalists in the inaugural 30 x 30 prize at Art Piece Gallery. The exhibition will be current from 24th November – 14th December 2017 at Art Piece Gallery, 17 Burringbar Street, Mullumbimby, NSW.

  • Artist in Residence, Tweed Regional Gallery 2017

In September 2017 Anita returned to the Nancy Fairfax Artist in Residence Studio at the Tweed Regional Art Gallery for a month. She focused on her plein air oil and watercolour paintings using the studio as a base, and built a photographic journal exploring the powerful presence of Wollumbin Mountain in the landscape.

  • Artist in Residence, Baer Art Center, Northern Iceland

In June 2017 Anita was one of five resident artists from around the world, at the Baer Art Center in the far north of Iceland. Living and working there, between the mountains, the fjord, Skagafjörður, and the black sand beach, was a truly unforgettable and inspiring experience. Here are a few images taken from Baer.

  • Artist in Residence, Tweed Regional Gallery 2016

For the month of November 2016 Anita was the artist in residence at the Nancy Fairfax A.I.R. Studio of the Tweed Regional Art Gallery, Murwillumbah in Northern NSW.  The studio setting is sublime, set amid the rolling hills of the Northern Rivers.  It looks out over the valley, towards the Tweed Range and the iconic Wollumbin Mountain.

She created a suite of plein air paintings in both watercolour and oil, and a photographic essay of the changing skyline, as the summer storms swept through bringing some amazing colours and cloud formations.
